Improv Theatre was our special focus, led by our own group member Lyn Wong.
For warming up we started with the passing the ball exercise:
Simple passing fancy passing, clockwise and anticlockwise.
Then added
Bridge (skipping
over one person)
Bowling, rolling across bypassing two people who have to jump,
And elevator
Going up or going down
Ha-So-Ka
Ha- point your arms and hands (palms together) forwards at someone
That person has to raise hands above head and say So
Adjacent people chop "so" person in the middle with "ka"
And anyone who makes mistake has to fail happy and exit
World association
Take turns to rattle off a word associated with what person to your left says
One word stories
Tell a story: in a big circle: each person one word at a time.
Then in pairs
One person starts with an action
Second person joins imitating action and asking what are you doing ?
Person responds "I am xxx", describing a different action: person two has to adopt that action and person three comes along , imitating and asking, then being told yet a different action.. Continue till each has had a turn.
Blind freeze
Two people act out a drama
Facilitator calls out freeze
One volunteer comes and taps either frozen to leave stage and replaces : new drama follows: till facilitator calls freeze, and so on till all have had a turn
Intimate questions:
Responding to mathatics while following body movements and answering intimate questions
One volunteer returns and observes the mime. When he thinks he knows the location he claps and actor mimes the occupation.
When observer thinks he know occupation he claps and actor mimes the murder weapon. When observer guesses weapon he takes it and kills actor .
Observer becomes actor and next observer comes in,
